“Pay attention to the things you are naturally drawn toward. They are often connected to your path, passion, and purpose in life. Have the courage to follow them”
RUBEN CHAVEZ
I’m not sure where I first read this, but I’ve never forgotten it. My design journey began as a young girl. From re-arranging my own bedroom furniture and asking my parents to change the paint color to exploring drawing, painting, and jewelry making, I was born a creative soul and lucky enough to have parents that encouraged this trajectory. I have always intuitively moved through my life with a strong pull to do what I love, immersed in a profession that encompasses my true self expression. My path was more of a winding road that brought me to many places along the way which led me closer to understanding myself.
After high school, I dove deeper into these creative passions. Studying Communications Design, Art History, and Psychology at Syracuse University’s School of Art and Design, I learned the fundamentals of design and how the smallest details, the balance of elements, and the subtle shades and hues of color make all the difference, and that less is always more; a revelation that resonated profoundly with me.
I went on to work for large apparel brands in merchandising and design, developing seasonal strategies, color & textiles. My entreupenurial spirit led me to join smaller organizations where I learned the business side in combination with being able to make important creative contributions, all while training my eye toward a refined design aesthetic.
On weekends, I found myself hunting for special pieces for my home- antiques that brought stories and texture to modern, clean furniture and space. I spent time outdoors and pulled inspiration from nature, and discovered ‘the calm’ that evokes when bringing outdoor elements inside a home. Each was a testament to my love for interiors, textiles, and craftsmanship. With the encouragement from my husband, family, and friends, I’m so excited to start this design journey!
Central to my design belief is the creation of a space that is consciously designed beyond material and decor, interiors that breathe comfort, thoughtfulness, and inspiration. I work closely with my clients crafting an interior collection that resonates with those who seek both beauty and meaning in their homes.
I currently live in the Boston suburbs with my husband and our two young boys, who are my greatest joys and most proud works of art.
